MY JOURNEY

I don’t talk much on the blog about my experience transitioning from full time job to running my own business.  I still remember the day I left my full time job.  It was the scariest and most liberating moment of my life.  You know all the terrible things we say to ourselves – the worst case scenario?  None of the those awful things ever came even close to happening! I didn’t fail, I didn’t go into debt and I didn’t regret anything.  Quite the opposite. My business steadily grew and continues to grow everyday.   When you start seeing the goals you envisioned for so long becoming your reality there are many pinch me moments to be grateful for.

Although on the surface it all looked glamorous (the polished Instagram view of things) on the back end what most people didn’t see is how much work it took – the countless late nights editing, working through every weekend, the constant nagging feeling of overwhelm, knowing where you want your business to be and then being hard on yourself that it’s not there yet…WAY too many tabs were open in my brain and as a result I wasn’t focusing not he right things in my business.  Through working with so many women entrepreneurs I quickly realized I wasn’t the only one frustrated by this.  Towards the end of 2014 I knew there had to be a better way of doing things.  It was around this time when I saw The 90 Day Year program. What I loved about Todd & program is that it teaches you tactical strategies about growing your business and learning how to operate efficiently to get the right things done.

The FB community in this program were so helpful.  After writing a fairly long post about social media tips & tricks I got the biggest surprise of life when my phone rang the next day and it was Todd Herman himself on the other line calling to say thank you (!!!) I tried my best to collect myself but my surprise and delight just flowed out of me.  Talk about knowing how to make a lasting impression? I will never forget that moment when Todd called me.  This right here is someone who cares and loves what he does.  He wanted each and everyone of us to succeed and was right there with us every step of the way.  We set up a Skype interview where I talked about what I loved most about the program. This was my first “interview” and oh my gosh I was so nervous but after a minute chatting with Todd it was like talking to an old (very smart) friend.  I truly hope by putting myself out there it helps some of you gain clarity and inspiration!

…yes, I did say 90 years instead of 90 days LOL – & guess I have to work on my “listening” face too huh?…another great life tip? Get use to laughing at yourself a LOT!
