3. GIVING BACK

This all started probably about 6 months ago. The climate of the world is not the greatest and I found myself struggling to keep positive and motivated to work on “pretty photos” when there was so much suffering in the world. I wanted to do my part but kept saying to myself I’m just a photographer…what can I do?

I started to really pay attention (and yes, almost envy) these amazing small business that had a purpose and were giving back to incredible causes and helping their community. How amazing that they could turn doing what they love not only to make a living for themselves, but to help better others?

Again, I found myself feeling I wish I had that.

Then one day close to after Vegas, as I was sitting in my family room looking up at my photo ledge lost in thought it dawned on me. I had a shop. I had a product I sold. What if I changed things up and started to donate every month to a different charity, organization or cause? As soon as I said it out loud to my Mr. I knew it was the solution and new direction I had been looking for.

So, to kick things off…

In the months of November – December we will be donating a portion of our sales to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.

They are currently raising funds to build a new hospital to provide better care for children. We rushed our little one there when he was only a few months old, thankfully it turned out to be nothing but I had never been more scared in my entire life. I was so thankful to the nurses and doctors there who were patient, kind and answered all our (new parent) Q’s.

Come January we will be choosing a different organization and cause to support!

Psst, don’t worry we are still hosting our annual Black Friday 30% off sale. Just with a little bit more giving.
